Paintback wins the 2026 Circular Economy Chemistry Australia Award

Sponsored by Evoro Group, Paintback was awarded the 2026 Circular Economy Award for its leadership in circular economy innovation and product stewardship.

Through the incorporation of recycled paint into community sports courts, Paintback and project partners APT have turned unwanted paint into products for use in local infrastructure and sporting facilities, showing that circular solutions are real, valuable, and achievable today.

The Paintback/APT partnership is the result of over three years of research, development and joint testing between APT’s R&D scientists and Paintback’s technical team to ensure the recycled materials deliver the same trusted performance standards that define every APT surface.

Paintback’s paint is being upcycled in the base layer of Laykold court systems and the backing of all APT turfs to deliver proven surfaces that perform just like the originals but are significantly better for the planet. From October 2025, every Australian-made Laykold court (an APT brand) and turf system will include recycled paint supplied by Paintback, turning unwanted paint into world-class performance surfaces that are truly sustainable.

This project and the ongoing product use demonstrates how environmental and circular economy innovation can be embedded into asset renewal without compromising performance or safety.

Paintback’s sporting surface partnership with APT is a standout example of the circular economy in action – advancing circularity across all stages into new products that benefit our communities.
